Myrcene Terpene Explained

Welcome to Terpene Tuesday! Today I would like to introduce you to Myrcene - a musky, earthy terpene that encourages sleep. Myrcene is the most prominent terpene in cannabis and can also be found in Mangoes, lemongrass and hops (beer). Myrcene’s special gift is its ability to effectively penetrate the blood/brain barrier, making it an excellent addition to topical creams and ointments. But beer drinkers, beware! Myrcene’s ability to penetrate the blood/brain barrier may also explain why drinking beer while smoking cannabis can result in a case of the “spins.”  Myrcene is present in all cannabis flowers but it is dominant in Indica strains like OG Kush and GMO.
